Why I came back to masonry
I learned to lay brick right out of school, working under an older mason who didn't let much slide. Then I spent close to ten years doing other work. I missed building things you can stand back and look at, so I came back to the trade and started this business in Springfield in 2013.
These days we're best known for repointing and brick repair on older homes, and Springfield has plenty of them. People call us when mortar is crumbling, a chimney is coming apart, or they want a wall, a walk or a patio built right the first time. What I care about is simple. I come out to look at every job and write the estimate myself, and then I'm on site working alongside our crew. Nothing gets lost between what you were told and what gets built.
We find out why it failed first
Crumbling mortar or a cracked wall usually has a cause behind it, often water getting in somewhere it shouldn't. We track that down before we touch anything, so the repair has a real shot at lasting.
A straight answer, even a small one
If your job is smaller than you thought, or it can wait, I'll tell you. I'd rather lose the sale than sell work your house doesn't need.

We're licensed and insured, so you're not handing your chimney or your foundation to someone working off the books. Ask about it when I come out for the estimate and you'll get a straight answer.
Permits checked before we start
In Springfield, building permits go through the city, and the other cities and villages we work in have their own offices. We check with the office for your address before work starts, and if your job needs a permit, we take care of the paperwork.
